Ingredients

  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • tablespoon butter 
  • 13 oz clams chopped canned
  • 0.3 cup cooking wine dry white
  • tablespoons basil fresh chopped
  • oz mushrooms fresh sliced
  • tablespoons parsley fresh chopped
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • teaspoons penzey's southwest seasoning italian crushed
  • 12 oz pasta 
  • 0.3 cup olive oil 
  • servings garnish: parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper dried red crushed

Directions

  1. Cook pasta in a Dutch oven according to package directions.
  2. Drain and return to Dutch oven; set aside.
  3. Drain clams, reserving juice.
  4. Melt butter with oil in a large skillet over medium heat; add mushrooms and garlic, and saut 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.
  5. Add clams, white wine, basil, and next 4 ingredients; cook, stirring often, 5 minutes.
  6. Stir reserved clam juice into pasta in Dutch oven; cook over medium heat 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat; add mushroom mixture, tossing to coat.
  8. Garnish, if desired.
  9. *1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning may be substituted.
  10. Note: For testing purposes only, we used Dean Jacob's Grinder Fresh Italiano All Natural Seasoning.
