  • large garlic clove pressed
  • 16  kalamata olives pitted quartered
  • ounces pasta 
  • tablespoons olive oil extra virgin extra-virgin
  • cup parmesan cheese finely grated for passing
  • 14 ounces bell pepper red stemmed seeded cut into 1/3-inch cubes
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper dried red generous crushed ()
  • tablespoon balsamic vinegar white

  1. Cook pasta in large pot of boiling saltedwater until just tender but still firm to bite.
  2. Drain, reserving 1 cup cooking liquid.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstickskillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add bellpeppers, olives, garlic, and crushed redpepper. Sauté until bell peppers are tender,4 to 5 minutes.
  5. Add pasta, 1/2 cup reservedpasta cooking liquid, 1 cup basil, 1 cupcheese, and vinegar. Toss until sauce coatspasta, adding more reserved cooking liquidby 1/4 cupfuls if dry, about 1 minute. Seasonto taste with salt and pepper.
  6. Transfer tobowl.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup basiland serve, passing additional cheese.
