Ingredients

  • 14 oz beef broth canned
  • 56 oz tomatoes diced undrained canned
  • 45 oz pinto beans rinsed drained canned
  • 0.5 cup chili powder 
  • tablespoons garlic minced
  • large bell pepper green chopped
  • pounds ground beef 
  • tablespoon ground cumin 
  • medium onions chopped
  • tablespoon oregano dried
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt

Directions

  1. Brown beef in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Drain beef, reserving 1/4 cup drippings in pan.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic to drippings; saut over medium-high heat 6 to 8 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Return beef to Dutch oven.
  4. Stir in chili powder and cumin; cook over medium heat 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in beef broth and next 3 ingredients. Reduce heat, and simmer, covered, 50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add pinto beans, and cook 20 more minutes.
