  • tablespoons cornstarch 
  • 0.5 cup cup heavy whipping cream 
  • servings accompaniment: lightly whipped cream sweetened
  • ounces chocolate chopped
  • tablespoons sugar 
  • tablespoons cocoa powder unsweetened
  • teaspoon vanilla extract pure
  • 1.5 cups milk whole

Directions

  1. Whisk together sugar, cornstarch, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt in a 2-quart heavy saucepan, then gradually whisk in milk and cream. Bring to a boil over moderately high heat, whisking constantly, then boil, whisking, 2 minutes. (
  2. Mixture will be thick.)
  3. Remove from heat.

  6. Pudding can be chilled, covered with plastic wrap after 2 hours, up to 3 days.
