  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • 16 ounce okra frozen thawed sliced
  • large onion chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper 
  •  plum tomatoes seeded chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • teaspoons sugar

Directions

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp; drain and crumble, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet. Set bacon aside.
  2. Dredge okra in flour.
  3. Saut onion in reserved drippings until tender.
  4. Add okra; cook, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Stir in tomato and sugar; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in salt and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle with bacon.
