Ingredients

  • teaspoons double-acting baking powder 
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda 
  • cup brown sugar packed
  • tablespoons butter melted
  • 0.8 cup creamy peanut butter 
  •  eggs 
  • 2.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • cup milk 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.3 cup shortening

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup JIF® peanut butter and the melted butter or margarine until crumbly; set aside.
  3. Cream 1/2 cup JIF® and the shortening together well. Slowly beat in 1 cup brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating till fluffy
  5. Thoroughly stir together 2 cups flour, baking powder, salt, and soda.
  6. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture, beating after every addition.
  7. Spread batter in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Top with crumbly mixture.
  8. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
