Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups peas sweet frozen
  • slices bacon chopped
  • tablespoons onion finely chopped
  • 0.3 cup slivered almonds 
  • tablespoons butter 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • Dash pepper

Directions

  1. Cook peas as directed on bag; drain.
  2. Meanwhile, in 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp.
  3. Remove bacon from skillet with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels.
  4. Add onion and almonds to bacon drippings in skillet; cook over medium-high heat 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until onion is tender and almonds are lightly browned.
  5. Remove from skillet.
  6. In same skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat.
  7. Add cooked peas, bacon, onion, almonds, salt and pepper; toss.
