  • cups chicken broth 
  • teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 0.5 cup onion chopped
  • cup pecans toasted coarsely chopped
  • cup rice long-grain uncooked
  • 0.3 cup shallots minced
  • tablespoons butter unsalted
