There is something undeniably delightful about the moment when a crisp, buttery cookie meets the refreshing coolness of fresh mint, and Peppermint Crescents are the perfect embodiment of this sweet harmony. These delicate treats offer a sophisticated twist on traditional holiday favorites, transforming simple ingredients into an elegant appetizer or snack that feels both festive and refined. The process begins with creating a rich, creamy dough where softened butter dances with powdered sugar and a whisper of peppermint extract, setting the stage for a flavor profile that is subtly aromatic rather than overwhelmingly minty. By rolling small portions of this dough into 2-inch logs and curving them into crescent shapes, you mimic the iconic look of a classic cookie while infusing a unique, playful charm into every bite.

What truly elevates these cookies, however, is the finishing touch. As the warm, lightly browned crescents emerge from the oven, they are gently rolled in sifted powdered sugar, creating a snowy, delicate coating that adds texture and visual appeal. Just as they cool, a homemade glaze made from milk, sugar, and more peppermint extract is drizzled over the top, cascading down the curves like edible icing. The final flourish comes from sprinkling crushed hard peppermint candies over the glaze, adding a satisfying crunch and an intense burst of minty flavor that contrasts beautifully with the soft, melt-in-your-mouth interior. Whether you are hosting a holiday party or simply want to share a treat with friends, these crescents bring a cheerful spirit and a memorable taste experience that will have everyone asking for the secret to their success.
