Ingredients

  • teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • pound ground round 
  • 0.3 cup low-salt beef broth dry red
  • ounce mushrooms divided sliced
  • teaspoons onion instant minced
  • 0.3 cup water 
  • teaspoons worcestershire sauce low-sodium

Directions

  1. Coarsely chop 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms.
  2. Combine beef, chopped mushrooms, onion, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl; shape into 4 equal patties, 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Sprinkle pepper evenly on both sides of patties.
  4. Place a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Add patties, and cook 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until done.
  6. Transfer to a serving platter, and keep warm.
  7. Add wine, water, and remaining mushrooms to pan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, scraping pan to loosen browned bits about 3 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.
  8. Pour mushroom mixture over patties.
