  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • teaspoon canola oil 
  • 0.3 cup cornmeal 
  • teaspoon dried savory dried
  • large eggs lightly beaten
  • tablespoon fresh sage fresh chopped
  • tablespoon thyme sprigs fresh chopped
  • teaspoon garlic powder 
  • cup apples i use 2 granny smith apples grated peeled
  • 0.8 pound ground pork 
  • 0.8 pound pd of ground turkey 
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • cup onion finely chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 37
  2. Combine pork, turkey, and next 10 ingredients (through eggs) in a bowl; gently mix just until combined.
  3. Transfer mixture to a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan coated with cooking spray.
  4. Bake at 375 for 55 minutes or until a thermometer registers 16
  5. Cool to room temperature; cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Remove from pan.
  7. Cut scrapple into 10 slices.
  8. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  9. Add oil to pan; swirl to coat.
  10. Add scrapple slices to pan; saut 1 to 2 minutes on each side or until browned.
  11. Place 2 scrapple slices on each of 5 plates. Top each serving with ketchup and horseradish, if desired.
  12. Serve warm.
