  • servings garnish: chocolate sauce 
  • small pears firm cored peeled
  • 0.8 cup sugar 
  • cups water 

Equipment

Directions

  1. Bring 8 cups water and sugar to a boil in a Dutch oven.
  2. Add pears; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 12 to 15 minutes or until tender.
  3. Remove from heat; uncover and let cool.
  4. Cover pears, and chill 8 hours, if desired.
  5. Drain pears, and cut into thin slices, keeping stems intact.
  6. Serve with White Caramel Sauce; garnish, if desired.
