  • 0.8 cup brown sugar packed
  • tablespoon brown sugar 
  • 0.5 cup butter 
  • large eggs beaten
  • slices bread french (1"-thick)
  • 1.5 cups half and half 
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup 
  • ounce pecans chopped ()
  • teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring with a wire whisk until blended.

  3. Place bread in dish; pour remaining egg mixture over bread. Cover and chill 8 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 35
  5. Combine butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, and pecans in a glass bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, and microwave at HIGH 30 seconds.
  6. Pour over bread.
  7. Bake, uncovered at 350 for 30 minutes or until set and golden.
  8. Serve with bacon, if desired.
