Ingredients

  • cups popped popcorn plain unsalted
  • cup pumpkin seeds unsalted (pepitas)
  • 0.5 cup butter 
  • cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.3 cup plus light
  • teaspoon chili powder 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground pepper red (cayenne)

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 250°F. Spray 17x12-inch half-sheet pan with cooking spray. In large bowl, mix popcorn and pumpkin seeds; set aside.
  2. In 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat; stir in brown sugar and corn syrup.
  3. Heat to boiling over medium heat; boil 2 minutes. Stir in chili powder, salt, cumin, cinnamon and red pepper.
  4. Pour over popcorn mixture; stir to coat completely.
  5. Spread mixture in pan.
  6. Bake uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack.
