Ingredients
- 1 bay leaf
- 15 ounce beans white drained canned (such as cannellini)
- 2 medium carrots chopped
- 1 medium stalk celery chopped
- 1.5 cups ham diced
- 1.5 cups ditalini pasta uncooked
- 1 garlic clove chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 0.5 cup parmesan cheese fresh grated
- 2 tablespoons parsley fresh italian chopped
- 24 ounce newman's own tomato & garlic pasta sauce fire roasted
- 0.3 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups water

Directions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add carrot, onion, and celery and saut 3 to 5 minutes or until onion and celery are translucent.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds or until fragrant.
- Add pasta sauce, beans, ham, water and bay leaf; bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta, parsley, salt and pepper. Simmer an additional 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
- Remove bay leaf. Spoon soup into bowls and top evenly with Parmesan cheese.
