  • 0.3 cup balsamic vinegar 
  • teaspoon pepper black
  • 0.3 cup chipotle chiles in adobo sauce canned undrained
  •  garlic cloves unpeeled
  • 0.3 cup juice of lime 
  • 1.5 cups onion chopped
  • teaspoon oregano dried
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • medium tomatoes 
  • tablespoon vegetable oil 
  • 0.3 cup water

Directions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Place the first 3 ingredients on a baking sheet; broil for 20 minutes or until blackened, stirring often.
  3. Remove garlic cloves; squeeze to extract garlic pulp. Discard skins.
  4. Place onion, tomatoes, and garlic in a food processor; add the remaining ingredients, and process until smooth.
  5. Serve warm or at room temperature with baked tortilla chips.
