Ingredients

  • 1.5 tablespoons t brown sugar dark packed ()
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger 
  • cup catsup 
  • 0.3 cup juice of lemon fresh
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon zest grated
  • teaspoon liquid smoke 
  • tablespoon blackstrap molasses light ()
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder 
  • 0.3 cup orange juice 
  • cup root beer 
  • tablespoons worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in heavy medium saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until reduced to 1 1/2 cups, about 20 minutes. Season sauce to taste with salt and pepper. Cool slightly.
  2. Transfer to bowl. Cover and refrigerate. (Can be made 2 weeks ahead; keep refrigerated.)
