Ingredients

  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda 
  • 0.5 cup butter softened
  • 1.5 teaspoons cream of tartar 
  •  eggs 
  • 3.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • tablespoon rosemary leaves fresh minced
  • cup golden raisins 
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon extract 
  • tablespoon lemon zest grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5 cup shortening 
  • 1.5 cups sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the rosemary, lemon peel and extract.
  3. Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in raisins.
  4. Roll into 1-in. balls.
  5. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a fork.
  6. Bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove to wire racks to cool. Cookies may be frozen for up to 3 months.
