Craving a comforting and flavorful side dish that's both easy to make and naturally wholesome? Look no further than this Rustic Applesauce! Forget the overly processed jars from the supermarket; this homemade version is bursting with fresh apple flavor and a touch of warm spice that will tantalize your taste buds.

This recipe combines the tartness of Granny Smith apples with the sweetness of Braeburn or Pink Lady varieties for a perfectly balanced flavor profile. The addition of brown sugar adds a caramel-like depth, while a hint of lemon juice brightens the applesauce and prevents browning. Cinnamon gives it that classic comforting feel, and a dash of vanilla extract adds a smooth, aromatic undertone.

What truly sets this applesauce apart is the incorporation of crème fraîche. This luxurious ingredient adds a delightful tang and creamy texture that elevates the dish from simple to sublime. Imagine serving this warm, homemade applesauce alongside your favorite roasted pork, chicken, or even as a sweet and satisfying treat on its own. Plus, it's both vegetarian and gluten-free, making it a perfect option for accommodating various dietary needs.
