  • 0.3 cup cilantro leaves fresh chopped
  • teaspoon garlic minced
  • 0.3 cup onion chopped
  • teaspoon sea salt 
  •  serrano chile peppers 
  • pound tomatillos fresh
  • cups water

Directions

  1. Place chiles and 2 cups water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
  2. Add tomatillos; cover and simmer 5 minutes.
  3. Remove chiles and tomatillos from water; cool. Reserve water.
  4. Process cooled chiles and tomatillos in a blender 30 seconds or until smooth, stopping twice to scrape down sides.
  5. Pour sauce into a bowl; add remaining ingredients. Stir with a wire whisk.
  6. Note: For a thinner sauce, add some of the reserved cooking water.
