Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper black freshly ground
  • teaspoon canola oil 
  • ounces cheddar cheese shredded reduced-fat finely
  • teaspoon ground mustard dry
  • cups egg substitute 
  • large eggs 
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground pepper red
  • cups milk 1% low-fat
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 12 ounces diestel breakfast sausage 
  • ounce sandwich bread white

Directions

  1. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray.
  2. Add sausage to pan; cook 5 minutes or until browned, stirring and breaking sausage to crumble.
  3. Remove from heat; cool.
  4. Combine milk and next 6 ingredients (through eggs) in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk.
  5. Trim crusts from bread.
  6. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes.
  7. Add bread cubes, sausage, and cheddar cheese to milk mixture, stirring to combine.
  8. Pour bread mixture into a 13 x 9inch baking or 3-quart casserole dish coated with cooking spray, spreading egg mixture evenly in baking dish. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
  9. Preheat oven to 35
  10. Remove casserole from refrigerator; let stand 30 minutes.
  11. Sprinkle casserole evenly with paprika.
  12. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until set and lightly browned.
  13. Let stand 10 minutes.
