  • tablespoons butter ()
  • 10 servings coarse kosher salt 
  • large garlic clove minced
  • ounces thick ham smoked coarsely chopped
  • 0.7 cup low-salt chicken broth 
  • tablespoons olive oil extra-virgin
  • 0.5 cup pecans toasted chopped

Directions

  1. Trim root ends from brussels sprouts.Using sharp knife or processor fitted withcoarse shredding disk, thinly slice brusselssprouts into shreds. DO AHEAD: Can beprepared 1 day ahead. Cover and chill.
  2. Melt butter with olive oil in large deepskillet over medium heat.
  3. Add ham; sautéuntil golden, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic;stir 30 seconds.
  5. Add brussels sprouts andbroth; sauté until crisp-tender but stillbright green, 3 to 5 minutes. Season withcoarse salt and black pepper.
  6. Transfer toserving bowl.
