  • cup ham diced cooked
  • medium onion thinly sliced
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper 
  • pounds potatoes thinly sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.8 cup water

Directions

  1. Layer half each of first 4 ingredients in a 5-quart slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper; repeat layers with remaining potato, onion, ham, and cheese.
  3. Stir together soup and 3/4 cup water; spoon over potato mixture.
  4. Cook, covered, on LOW 7 to 8 hours.
  5. Sprinkle with chives, if desired.
