Ingredients

  • tablespoons cilantro leaves fresh chopped
  • teaspoon ginger fresh finely grated peeled
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 0.3 pound tart apple such as granny smith 
  • tablespoons rice vinegar (not seasoned)
  •  scallions thinly sliced
  • tablespoons asian sesame oil 
  • tablespoon sesame seed toasted
  • tablespoons soya sauce 
  • teaspoon sugar 
  • 0.8 ounce wakame seaweed dried whole ( or cut)

Directions

  1. Soak seaweed in warm water to cover, 5 minutes.
  2. Drain, then squeeze out excess water. If wakame is uncut, cut into 1/2-inch-wide strips.
  3. Stir together vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, ginger, and garlic in a bowl until sugar is dissolved.
  4. Cut apple into 1/4-inch dice and add to dressing with seaweed, scallions, and cilantro, tossing to combine well.
  5. Sprinkle salad with sesame seeds.
