Ingredients

  • teaspoon five-spice powder 
  • 0.5 cup no-salt-added beef broth 
  • cups bell pepper strips red
  • cups bell pepper strips yellow
  • cups bok choy thinly sliced
  • cups rice hot cooked
  • tablespoon cornstarch 
  • tablespoon sesame oil dark
  • pound flank steak lean
  • 1.5 tablespoons ginger fresh minced peeled
  •  garlic cloves minced
  • tablespoons soya sauce low-sodium
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • tablespoon sesame seed toasted

Directions

  1. Trim fat from steak; rub surface of steak with five-spice powder. Slice steak diagonally across grain into thin strips.
  2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add ginger and garlic, and stir-fry 2 minutes.
  4. Add beef, and stir-fry 4 minutes.
  5. Add bell peppers, and stir-fry 2 minutes.
  6. Combine broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch in a small bowl.
  7. Add to beef mixture.
  8. Add bok choy, and cook 1 minute or until bok choy wilts and mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
  9. Remove from heat, and stir in toasted sesame seeds and salt.
  10. Serve over rice.
