Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup apple juice 
  • envelope au jus mix 
  • pounds sirloin beef tips 
  • 0.5 cup canola oil 
  • cup soya sauce 
  • 12  portugese rolls split french

Directions

  1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce, oil and juice.
  2. Remove 1/2 cup for basting.
  3. Add the roast to remaining marinade; seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight, turning occasionally. Cover and refrigerate reserved marinade.
  4. Drain and discard marinade. Grill roast, covered, over indirect heat for 1 hour, turning every 15 minutes or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145°; medium, 160°; well-done, 170°), basting frequently with reserved marinate.
  5. Remove from the grill; let stand for 1 hour. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Just before serving, prepare gravy mix according to package directions. Thinly slice roast; add to the gravy and heat through.
  7. Serve on rolls.
