  • lb sweet potatoes and into peeled cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1.5 cups apple sauce 
  • 0.7 cup brown sugar packed
  • tablespoons butter melted
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 0.5 cup nuts toasted chopped

Directions

  1. Place sweet potatoes in 2- to 3 1/2-quart slow cooker.
  2. Mix remaining ingredients except nuts; spoon over potatoes.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat setting 6 to 8 hours or until potatoes are very tender.
  4. Sprinkle with nuts. This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base.
