  •  bay leaves crumbled
  • tablespoons brown sugar 
  • teaspoons chili powder 
  • cloves garlic crushed peeled
  • 0.5 cup grapefruit juice fresh
  • teaspoon ground allspice 
  • teaspoon ground pepper black
  • slices garnishes: lemon lemon rind grated
  • 0.3 cup juice of lemon fresh
  • medium onion finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup orange juice fresh
  • pound boston butt pork shoulder 
  • teaspoons salt 
  • tablespoon vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Combine first 11 ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Add pork roast, turning to coat with marinade. Cover and refrigerate roast at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Remove roast from marinade, reserving marinade. Brown all sides of roast in hot oil in a Dutch oven.
  4. Add reserved marinade.
  5. Bake, covered, at 275 for 6 to 7 hours or until meat can be shredded.
