Ingredients

  • teaspoon canola oil 
  • tablespoons chives fresh divided minced
  • tablespoon garlic fresh minced
  • 0.3 teaspoon pepper white
  • cup cream sour reduced-fat
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt divided
  • cups onion sweet yellow finely chopped ( 1 onion)

Directions

  1. Heat a small skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add oil to pan; swirl to coat.
  3. Add onion, garlic, and 1/8 teaspoon salt; cook 4 minutes, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 6 minutes, stirring frequently. Cool onion mixture slightly.
  4. Combine sour cream, mayonnaise, 1 1/2 tablespoons chives, pepper, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt in a large bowl.
  5. Add onion mixture; stir well. Top with remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons chives.
