  • 0.3 teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  •  eggs 
  • 1.5 cups flour all-purpose
  • Dash nutmeg 
  • Dash pepper white
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5 cup water

Directions

  1. Beat eggs in a medium mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Add flour and water alternately, beginning and ending with flour; beat well after each addition. Stir in remaining ingredients, mixing well.
  3. Bring 2 quarts water to a simmering boil in a small Dutch oven.
  4. Place a greased spaetzle colander or regular colander over water.
  5. Place spaetzle mixture into colander; press mixture through colander into water. Cook, uncovered, 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Drain.
  7. Spoon spaetzle into hot broths or consomms just before serving.
