Ingredients

  • cup balsamic vinegar 
  • large eggs 
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • tablespoons honey 
  • tablespoon juice of lemon 
  • oz fromage blanc 
  • 3.8 oz mini-phyllo pastry shells frozen
  • pinch nutmeg 
  • tablespoon orange liqueur 
  • 0.5 pt strawberries fresh chopped
  • tablespoons sugar 

Equipment

  • sauce pan

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 35
  2. Process first 6 ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Slowly sift in flour; process until blended.
  3. Spoon 1 heaping teaspoonful mixture into each phyllo shell.
  4. Place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes or until set.
  6. Meanwhile, cook balsamic vinegar in a large saucepan over medium heat 10 minutes or until reduced to 1/4 cup. Cool completely (about 30 minutes).
  7. Toss strawberries with sugar. Spoon strawberries over tartlets; drizzle with balsamic reduction.
  8. Serve immediately.
  9. Note: We tested with Belle Chvre fromage blanc, Grand Marnier orange liqueur, and Colavita Balsamic Vinegar.
