Ingredients

  • cup butter 
  • 12 ounces milk chocolate morsels 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • cup slivered almonds 
  • cup sugar 
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • cup ground walnuts finely
  • 0.3 cup water

  • sauce pan
  • aluminum foil
  • candy thermometer

Directions

  1. Place almonds in a single layer on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
  2. Cook butter and next 4 ingredients in a heavy saucepan over high heat, stirring mixture constantly, 15 to 18 minutes or until a candy thermometer registers 31
  3. Remove from heat, and immediately pour over almonds (do not scrape the pan).
  4. Sprinkle immediately with chocolate morsels, and spread evenly to 1/2 inch from sides.
  5. Sprinkle with ground walnuts, and let stand until firm. Break into small pieces, and store in an airtight container.
