Ingredients

  •  bay leaves 
  • 0.8 cup butter 
  • 29 oz beef broth canned
  • stalks celery chopped
  • 29 oz chicken broth canned
  • 0.3 cup flat parsley minced
  • 0.5 cup flour mixed with 1 cup water
  • cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 lbs ground sirloin 
  •  hardboiled eggs chopped
  • tsp hot sauce 
  • cup catsup 
  • slices optional: lemon for garnish
  • 1.5 cups juice of lemon 
  • cup onion chopped
  • servings salt and pepper to taste
  • 1.5 tsp thyme leaves 
  • 15 oz canned tomatoes canned
  • 0.5 cup worcestershire sauce 
  • cup cooking sherry to taste

Equipment

  • stove
  • slow cooker

Directions

  1. On the stovetop, sauté the sirloin, celery, garlic, and onion in butter until meat is brown and veggies are translucent.
  2. Add to the slow cooker.
  3. Add tomato puree, chicken broth, beef broth, flour mixture, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, hot sauce, bay leaves, thyme, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir.
  4. Cook on low heat for 4 hours.
  5. Add lemon juice, parsley, and eggs 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Immediately before serving, remove bay leaves, add sherry to taste, andgarnish with lemon slices.
