Ingredients

  • tablespoons freshly basil leaves chopped
  • 28 ounce canned tomatoes pureed whole with basil, (recommended: progresso) peeled canned
  • teaspoon garlic crushed
  • 1.5 teaspoons penzey's southwest seasoning italian
  • tablespoon olive oil extra-virgin
  • cup onions frozen chopped (recommended: Ore-Ida)
  • cup white wine

Directions

  1. Put tomatoes in a blender and puree; set aside.
  2. In a medium pot, heat olive oil, over medium-high heat.
  3. Add onions and garlic.
  4. Saute for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Add pureed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and wine. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve Tuscan Tomato soup hot, garnished with chopped basil.
