  • tablespoons butter 
  • 0.5 teaspoon dill weed dried
  • tablespoon parsley dried to taste
  • 0.3 teaspoon ground pepper black
  • 1.8 cups milk 
  • 0.8 cup onion finely chopped
  • cups potatoes diced peeled
  • tablespoons real bacon bits 
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 1.5 cups water

Directions

  1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat; cook and stir onion until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add potatoes, water, dill weed, salt, and pepper to onion; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender and water is almost all evaporated, at least 30 minutes.
  3. Stir milk and bacon bits into potato mixture; bring to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir parsley into soup.
