  • cups peas dried split green yellow
  • cup sun-dried olives chopped
  • tablespoons chicken soup base 
  • teaspoons basil dried
  • teaspoons thyme leaves dried
  • teaspoons garlic powder 
  • teaspoon pepper freshly ground
  • teaspoon vegetable oil 
  • cup onion chopped
  • cups finely-chopped ham cooked chopped
  • cups water

Directions

  1. In glass jar or decorative Halloween gift bag, layer soup mix ingredients. Store tightly covered at room temperature up to 2 months.
  2. In 3-quart saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Cook onion in oil 5 to 6 minutes, stirring frequently, until tender.
  3. Add ham, water and soup mix.
  4. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 1 hour or until peas are tender.
