Ingredients

  • medium apples peeled cut into 1/4-inch slices ( 1 cup)
  • oz cheese blue crumbled
  • tablespoons butter 
  • teaspoon thyme sprigs fresh chopped
  • 0.3 cup pistachios chopped
  •  pearl onions red halved
  • box pie crust dough refrigerated softened
  • 0.3 cup shallots finely chopped
  • tablespoons cranberries dried sweetened

Equipment

  • oven
  • wire rack
  • tart form

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 450F. Make pie crust as directed on box for One-Crust
  2. Baked Shell using 9-inch tart pan with removable bottom.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  4. Meanwhile, in 8-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  5. Add shallots; cook 2 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Arrange apple slices in concentric circles in single layer in crust.
  8. Spread butter mixture over apples.
  9. Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle nuts, cranberries, cheese and thyme over apples.
  11. Bake about 3 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown. Cool on cooling rack 10 minutes.
  12. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  13. Garnish with onion.
