Ingredients

  • cups apple juice 
  •  bay leaf 
  • 0.8 cup bourbon 
  • 0.3 cup firmly brown sugar packed
  • 0.3 cup butter 
  • 0.3 cup flour all-purpose
  •  golden delicious apple chopped
  • 0.3 cup onion chopped
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • cups pan juices from savory herb roasted turkey

Directions

  1. Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat. Discard bay leaf.
  3. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in apple and onion; saut 8 minutes or until onion is tender and apple begins to caramelize.
  4. Whisk in flour, and cook, whisking constantly, 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth. Gradually add pan juices and apple juice mixture to pan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
