  • ounces pasta uncooked
  • small onion chopped
  •  garlic clove minced
  • tablespoon olive oil 
  • teaspoons butter 
  • 0.5 pound asparagus fresh trimmed cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • tablespoons chicken broth 
  • tablespoons parmesan cheese grated
  • tablespoon juice of lemon 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper
