  • ounces pasta uncooked
  • small onion chopped
  •  garlic clove minced
  • tablespoon olive oil 
  • teaspoons butter 
  • 0.5 pound asparagus fresh trimmed cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • tablespoons chicken broth 
  • tablespoons parmesan cheese grated
  • tablespoon juice of lemon 
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.1 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  1. Cook linguine according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a nonstick skillet, saute the onion and garlic in oil and butter until tender.
  2. Add asparagus; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until crisp-tender.
  3. Add wine or broth; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until liquid is reduced.
  4. Remove from the heat.
  5. Drain linguine; add to asparagus mixture.
  6. Add remaining ingredients; toss to coat.
  7. Serve immediately.
