  • quart blueberries fresh
  • 0.5 cup butter softened (1 stick)
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 cup milk 
  • pinch salt 
  • tablespoon sugar 
  • servings whipped cream fresh for serving
  • cups water

Directions

  1. Stir flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder, and salt together into a medium bowl.
  2. Cut butter into dry ingredients, using a pastry cutter or fork.

Cover pot, reduce heat to low, and cook slowly for 20 to 30 minutes. Do not remove the lid before 20 minutes has passed, and do not stir dumplings.
