Ingredients

  • 19.5 oz turkey sausage refrigerated italian hot
  • 0.5 cup onion finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup bell pepper red finely chopped
  • 1.5 cups hash browns shredded frozen thawed
  • teaspoons vegetable oil 
  • oz pepper jack cheese 
  •  muffins split english toasted

Directions

  1. Remove casing from sausage; crumble sausage into medium bowl.
  2. Add onion, bell pepper and potatoes; mix well. Shape mixture into 6 patties, about 1 inch thick.
  3. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook patties in oil 13 to 16 minutes, turning once or twice, until thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 165°F.
  4. Top each patty with 1 slice cheese. Cover; let stand 1 minute until cheese is melted.
  5. Serve on toasted muffins.
