Are you craving a hearty, protein-packed meal that feels like a classic diner favorite but is surprisingly quick to assemble? Look no further than the Burly Burger, a delightful fusion of comfort food and nutritional balance that comes together in just fifteen minutes. This recipe is perfect for busy lunch breaks or a satisfying dinner when you want something substantial without spending hours in the kitchen. What makes this burger truly special is its unique "inside-out" construction, featuring a crispy egg nestled securely between a juicy beef patty and toasted bread, all held together by a generous layer of mayonnaise. It is an excellent choice for those following a dairy-free lifestyle, as the traditional American cheese slice can be easily omitted or swapped for a plant-based alternative to keep the recipe accessible to everyone.

At just 534 calories per serving, the Burly Burger strikes a wonderful balance between indulgence and moderation, making it an ideal main course for anyone mindful of their energy intake while still enjoying rich flavors. The nutritional profile is impressively robust, with nearly 60% of the calories coming from healthy fats that keep you full and satisfied, alongside a solid 23% protein content to support muscle health. The carbohydrates provide just enough energy to fuel your afternoon without weighing you down. Whether you are a meat lover seeking a robust bite or someone looking for a creative twist on the traditional sandwich, this dish delivers on taste and texture. With simple ingredients like a standard hamburger patty, a farm-fresh egg, and everyday bread, you can create a gourmet-style experience right at home. Grab your skillet and toaster, and get ready to enjoy a meal that is as visually appealing as it is deliciously filling.

Ingredients

  • slice processed cheese food
  • ounce beef hamburger patty
  •  eggs
  • teaspoon mayonnaise
  • slices bread white

Equipment

  • frying pan
  • toaster

Directions

  1. Place the bread in a toaster set to your desired level of darkness.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the hamburger patty for about 5 minutes per side, until cooked through. While the patty is cooking, spread mayonnaise on one side of each piece of toasted bread and place them on a plate, mayonnaise side up.
  3. Once the patty is cooked through, transfer it to one slice of bread. Crack the egg into the skillet and fry until the yolk is firm, about 3 minutes if you cover the pan.
  4. Place the egg onto the patty when done and top with a slice of cheese. Top with the other slice of bread. When finished, it should look like a sandwich.
