Ingredients

  • teaspoons double-acting baking powder 
  • teaspoon caraway seeds 
  • large eggs lightly beaten
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.7 cup milk 1% low-fat
  • tablespoons butter chilled cut into small pieces
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt 
  • 1.5 tablespoons sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 40
  2. Combine the first 5 ingredients, and cut in margarine with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  3. Combine milk and egg; add to flour mixture, stirring just until moist (dough will be sticky).
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead 4 or 5 times. Pat dough into an 8-inch circle on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
  5. Cut dough into 12 wedges, cutting into, but not through, dough.
  6. Bake scones at 400 for 15 minutes.
  7. Serve scones warm.
