  • cups corn flakes/bran flakes 
  • 1.3 cups flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 cup brown sugar light packed
  • teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 0.8 teaspoon baking soda 
  • cup apple sauce 
  • 0.3 cup milk 
  • tablespoons vegetable oil 
  •  eggs 
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips miniature

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F.
  2. Place paper baking cups in each of 12 regular-size muffin cups or spray bottoms only with cooking spray.
  3. Place cereal in resealable food-storage plastic bag; seal bag. Using rolling pin, crush cereal; pour into large bowl.
  4. Add flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and baking soda; mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients just until moistened. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.
  5. Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from muffin cups. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
