  • teaspoon baking soda 
  • 0.8 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • cup buttermilk 
  •  eggs 
  • 0.8 cup flour whole wheat
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt 
  • 0.5 cup semisweet chocolate chips miniature
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375F.
  2. Place paper baking cup in each of 12 regular-size muffin cups. In medium bowl, mix buttermilk, butter and egg with spoon until blended. Stir in flours, brown sugar, cocoa, baking soda, vanilla and salt just until moistened. Stir in chocolate chips.
  3. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.
  4. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan.
  5. Serve warm or cool.
