  • 0.8 pound beef stew meat cut into 1 inch cubes
  • ounce tomato sauce canned
  • 14.5 ounce canned tomatoes crushed canned
  •  carrots finely chopped
  • large stalk celery minced
  • 0.3 teaspoon marjoram dried
  • 0.5 teaspoon thyme leaves dried
  • 29 ounce chicken broth fat-free canned
  • 0.5 cup flour all-purpose
  • ounces mushrooms fresh coarsely chopped
  • cloves garlic minced
  • 0.3 pound green beans cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground pepper black
  •  onions diced
  •  potatoes diced peeled

Directions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine beef, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, green beans, mushrooms, and potatoes.
  2. Pour in the tomatoes and tomato sauce. Season with bay leaf, pepper, thyme, and marjoram. Stir together chicken broth and flour.
  3. Pour chicken broth mixture and beef consomme into slow cooker, and stir.
  4. Cover, and cook on Low 6 to 10 hours.
  5. Remove bay leaf before serving.
