Ingredients

  • 26 servings coarse salt (kosher or sea)
  • 64 oz cranberry juice cocktail (8 cups)
  • 26 servings ice crushed
  • cup juice of lime fresh
  • 26 servings lime wedges 
  • 26 servings lime wedges 
  • 0.5 cup pear liqueur orange-flavored
  • cup sugar 
  • 1.5 cups tequila 
  • cup water

Directions

  1. In 1-quart saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Pour into large heatproof pitcher. Cover; refrigerate 20 minutes.
  4. Add lime juice, tequila, liqueur and cranberry juice cocktail to sugar syrup in pitcher; mix well. Refrigerate until serving time.
  5. Rub rims of margarita or lowball glasses with lime wedges, then dip rims in salt. Fill glasses with crushed ice; pour margarita mixture over ice.
  6. Garnish with lime wedges.
