Ingredients

  • 0.8 cup dates chopped
  • 0.5 cup walnut pieces chopped
  • tablespoons sugar 
  •  eggs 
  • tablespoons milk 
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • tablespoons flour all-purpose
  • 0.5 teaspoon double-acting baking powder 
  • Dash salt 
  • tablespoon butter 
  • serving whipped cream

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the dates, walnuts and sugar. In another bowl, beat egg, milk and vanilla.
  2. Add to date mixture; mix well.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to the date mixture.
  4. Spread into a greased 1-qt. baking dish; dot with butter.
  5. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Serve with whipped cream.
