  • 0.5 cup regular oats uncooked
  • 0.5 cup pecans toasted chopped
  • 0.3 teaspoon salt

  • 0.3 cup shortening 
  • teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating until blended.
  2. Add eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beating until blended.
  3. Combine flour, soda, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in morsels, oats, and pecans.
  4. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
  5. Bake at 350 for 15 to 16 minutes or until golden around edges.
  6. Remove to wire racks to cool.
