  • teaspoon chili powder 
  • tablespoons chili sauce 
  • cups flour all-purpose
  • cup mayonnaise 
  • servings salt 
  • teaspoon lawry's seasoned salt 
  • servings vegetable oil for deep frying
  • medium onions white yellow

Directions

  1. Preheat oil to 360 degrees F.
  2. To make the chili sauce, combine the mayonnaise, chili sauce, chili powder, and cayenne in a small bowl and stir well. Cover and chill until serving time.
  3. Slice the onions into very thin rings and separate the rings.
  4. Spread them out and sprinkle with seasoned salt.
  5. Place the flour in a re-sealable plastic bag.
  6. Put the onion rings, in batches, in the bag, close tightly, and shake until the onion rings are coated.
  7. Pour the oil into a Dutch oven. Fry the onion rings in batches for 3 to 4 minutes, until they are brown and crispy.
  8. Remove with tongs and drain on paper towels.
  9. Taste and season with salt, if necessary.
  10. Serve with chili sauce.
